About Us

The Pride of Sefton is a wide beam community canal boat based on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront. An independent charity (charity no. 1144393), the boat has been taken on and is proudly run by The Florrie — a much loved, Grade II listed community hub in the heart of Liverpool 8. The Florrie has been supporting local people for over 135 years through culture, creativity, education, and wellbeing.

We are now transforming The Pride of Sefton into a vibrant floating classroom and creative space that brings people together on the waterways. From youth projects to community workshops and private hire, our aim is to make the boat a resource that inspires, educates, and connects people of all ages.

Steer Your Future

Our flagship youth programme, Steer Your Future, gives young people the chance to learn new skills both on and off the water. From ropework and boat handling to creative workshops and storytelling, the project helps young people build confidence, make new friendships, and develop practical life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

For the Community

The Pride of Sefton will also host activities and events for the wider community, creating unique opportunities for groups, schools, and families to explore Liverpool’s historic docks and canal network. We want everyone to feel welcome aboard, whether they are learning, celebrating, or simply enjoying the view from the water.

Private Hire

To help sustain the charity, The Pride of Sefton is available for private hire. Whether you are planning a family celebration, school trip, team day, or community event, our boat offers a one-of-a-kind setting right in the heart of Liverpool’s docks. By hiring the boat, you are directly supporting our charitable work with young people and the wider community.

At The Pride of Sefton, we believe the water has the power to bring people together, spark creativity, and open up new opportunities.
